Abstract
The present paper seeks to describe an ongoing research project on documentation of Gurani of Kanduleh (or Kandulei) as an endangered Gurani variety and then present some of its primary findings. This project which is wholly sponsored by Volkswagen foundation follows the standard pattern of other "DOBES" documentation projects: gathering authentic data in the format of WAVE audio files, processing them through ELAN software, and then manipulating the obtained files via ARBIL software for uploading them in the corpus of Max Plank Institute for psycholinguistics in Nijmegen. The methodological details of the steps taken so far for achieving the project is thoroughly elaborated on in the first sections of the paper. Although we haven't yet reached firm results concerning the overall structure of Kandulei, we try to present our findings in the first phase of the project in the form of a comparison between the Gurani of Kanduleh and that of the more-studied variety of Paveh in terms of the linguistic mechanisms required for expressing progressive aspect and non-accusative alignment.
