Abstract |
Abstract In line with the limited studies in the field of technology and in order to deepen the process of using technological tools in education, the current study attempted to design and produce the software of teaching Persian/Farsi alphabet to non-native learners, as one of the most essential parts of the language teaching. In the process of its development such software as multimedia builder was used. The resulting software had various parts and features, such as the educational/ordering sections of the Persian alphabet, and other various parts. The structure of the main two sections of the software was based on two main approaches to alphabet teaching: constructive (bottom up) and analytic (top down). In order to evaluate the produced software, two standard questionnaires which were developed by the Ministry of Education (2013) were used. After designing and producing the software, 20 non-Persian speakers of Dehkhoda language institute and 20 experts of Cando IT institute used the tentative version of developed software and then replied the questionnaires. The results of the study indicated that the alphabet software was highly efficient from both groups’ viewpoints. The findings of the research study and the produced software can bear some practical implications for teaching alphabets and virtual/electronic content development. |
