Abstract
This research describes and analyzes Lak Persian learners' grammatical errors in writing composition. Data are gathered from compositions of about 76 Lak learners of Persian. These learners attend Elementary Course Persian classes at Guidance Schools in Kouhdasht, Iran. This study shows that a great number of persistent errors made by these learners are mostly attributable to their incomplete competence or deficit interlanguage. The results of the research indicate that most errors committed by these learners are intralingual and due to faulty or partial learning of the target language, rather than from language transfer. As composing is a cognitive process in an effort to lay groundwork for thinking processes in writing, error source may be psychological, sociolinguistic, epistemic, or may reside in the discourse structure .The results of studies like this can be used by language teachers, translators, textbook writers, test writers and the learners. When the teacher corrects students’ papers and points out their errors, he/she enhances their attention to correct language forms either explicitly or implicitly, hence increasing their grammar consciousness raising
