Abstract |
Since the number of simple verbs in Persian is limited، the emergence of compound verbs in this language has been great important since late. These verbs are analysed from different aspects such as morphology، syntax and semantic. This thesis has considered two light verb "keshidan" and "khordan" in cognitive semantics. The aim is revealing polysemy in radial category and show the relation between light verb and pre-verbal in Persian compound verbs. This research seeks to answer this question that how the meaning of compound verbs could be identified in cognitive semantics. In cognitive linguistic، meaning is important and the concept of meaning in cognitive samantics is understood by categorization، polysemy، radial category، metaphor، encyclopedic meaning and image schema. Among these factors، polysemy، radial category and metapgor are central meaning of compound verbs in Persian. In this regard، the descriptive-analytical research is considerd 202 compound verbs that they are consist of two light verbs "keshidan" and "khordan". All of these corpus has been adopted from "Farhang-e-sokhan dictionary"، native speakers، media، books and writer intuition. These verbs and data are placed in "Orbital Plan" regarding to meaning features. The results of this research show that compound verbs are in spectrum of transparency to full opaque؛ Also in these verbs the overlapping of light verb and pre-verbal is mandotory in terms of meaning featurs. |
