Abstract |
The purpose of the present study is to investigate the dictation errors of the Persian learners considering the orthographic depth as a special factor to understand the effect of mentioned factors. This study aimed to consider the relation between phoneme and the grapheme replacement level. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the dictation errors of Persian learners from Iraq, China, Germany and France . and find the effect of orthographic depth on their dictation errors. This study aim to answer the following questions that: first, what is the role of the grapheme replacement in the occurrence of Persian dictation errors and second, Is there any relation between learners nationality and dictation errors or not?. The applied data in this study was 49 words and phrases from learners book on intermediate level at Dehkhoda institute that was gathered from 25 papers of their dictation exams. To determine the grapheme and word frequencies in the present study Hamshahri corpus was used (2007). The result of investigation shows that the orthographic depth and grapheme replacement have a significant role in dictation errors and this matter has the smallest frequency in Iraqi learners. |
